Iwaasa and Gauri reach finals at 2017 Junior Nationals

This year's Junior National Championships in Leamington Ontario saw great results for our Alberta athletes. Four athletes represented our province along with coach Glen Yaretz of Calgary, Alberta.

In the Girls 18 & U event, Alexis Iwaasa of Lethbridge, AB won gold. Iwaasa has had consistent podium finishes as a junior athlete, winning several Canadian Junior Championship titles. Iwaasa also partnered with Cassie Prentice of Macrorie, SK to win gold in the 18 & U Girls Doubles event.

Lethbridge's Naman Gauri won silver in the Boy's 14 & U division, with Calgary's Caylen Yaretz placing 5th. The pair placed second in the Doubles division of their age category. Nyah Yaretz, also of Calgary, placed third respectively in the Girl's 16 & U Singles division and Girls 18 & U Doubles division.

Gauri and Iwaasa will represent Canada at the 2017 World Junior Championships this November in Minneapolis, USA. Congratulations to all athletes on their results! See Racquetball Canada's Official Media Release.
